At agility class this evening, I handed out postcards about Kate’s book. Michelle, who has had her dog in some of the same agility classes with Bandit and Chase, asked me about the story. Then she told me that in the past, she had heard mostly negative things about cattle dogs. But since she’s seen my dogs and the work that I’ve done with them, she’s been impressed with ACDs. That made me feel good!
Today I received an inquiry about Cay. The family that adopted her brother, Zander, is pre-approved by Homeward Bound and is looking for another dog. Her brother Zander was even more shy than Cay at adoption events. He would curl in a little ball or lay on his back on the floor. The events were too much for him. The family is interested in also adopting his sister. They do not have a fenced yard, but are home most of the time and take Zander out for runs at least twice per day. I told them that I won’t have Cay at the adoption event this Saturday, but can bring her to meet them on Sunday. I’m a bit concerned that they don’t have a fenced yard, but I told them all about Cay and some of the issues that I’ve been working on with her. We decided that we would figure out a place to meet on Sunday.
